The Mental Capacity Act (NI) 2016 is hugely significant and brings together mental health and mental capacity legislation into one Act. The first phase of the Act came into operation at the end of 2019 and relates to areas such as the deprivation of liberty. Further provisions relating to people who lack capacity to make decisions for themselves are still to come into force, along with various codes of practice. The team at Donnelly & Kinder will ensure that they keep abreast of all developments in this area of the law to ensure that they can provide the most up to date and detailed advice to clients.
Donnelly & Kinder have been providing legal advice for over 20 years and have a team of experienced and qualified solicitors with a speciality in these areas of the law. This is backed up by our membership in the Law Society Elder Law Group and our position on the Alzheimer’s Research UK panel of approved solicitors.
